Syrus Qazi appointed Foreign Secretary
He has served as Pakistan's ambassador in Turkey
The federal government has appointed Syrus Sajjad Qazi as the secretary in the foreign affair division.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reportedly approved the appointment on Friday.
Qazi is a career diplomat who is the senior-most officer in the foreign service right now. He was serving as special secretary administration prior to his appointment. He has also served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkey.
He will suceed Asad Majeed Khan who was appointed in December.
