Eight minors among 63 killed in Bajaur blast
The Bajaur blast that took 63 lives also included eight minors, according to a government report. The suicide bombing targeting Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl was the latest in a rise in militancy across the country, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
There were more than 100 people injured, including 10 children.
A banned organization claimed responsibility for the bombing, which was widely condemned. The religiopolitical party described it as a “biggest intelligence failure” and demanded the government take notice of the blast.
Six bodies – out of the eight – were recognized and handed over to the families, said the Health Department while the rest have not yet been identified.
Earlier a section of the media reported that 23 minors were among the people killed in the July 31 blast.
