PTI chief Imran Khan fears ‘disqualification’ as court hears Toshakhana case
Former Prime Minsiter Imran Khan believes that the sword of disqualification is hanging above him. His belief has been intensified after a district and sessions court declared four witnesses in the case as “irrelevant”. But Khan has also approached the high court against the decision.
“I am consistently being deprived of the Constitutional right of a fair trial in the Toshakhana case,” he said in a video statement on Wednesday night. “And I am not even allowed to present witnesses in my defence.”
The district and sessions court sought final arguments from the parties on Thursday (today) in the case of the gift. The court has maintained that it would reserve the decision if the parties failed
The court called for final arguments from the parties on Thursday, August 3 and it would reserve the decision if they failed to do so.
On Wednesday, the court maintained that Khan has failed to prove the relationship of the witnesses presented on his behalf with the case. For this reason, the witnesses were not allowed to record their statements.
