Three bodies remain unidentified as Bajaur death toll rises to 63

The death toll in the Bajaur suicide bombing rose to 63 on Wednesday after nine people succumbed to their wounds. At least three bodies remain unidentified.

At least 123 people injured in the blast are undergoing medical treatment at different hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A suicide bomber blew himself up at the workers’ convention of JUI-F in Khar’s Shady Morr area on Sunday killing 44 people instantly and severely wounding many others. Dozen of the injured were air-lifted to Peshawar in Pakistan Army helicopters.

The death toll rose to 54 by Tuesday and another nine people died overnight.

At least 43 bodies were brought to Khar Hospital following the bombing on Sunday. One injured individual was taken to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar where he passed away.

Four people died at the CMH Peshawar and two at Timgara Hospital.

Furthermore, the office of the Bajaur deputy commissioner confirmed that the bodies of 13 martyrs were taken to their homes directly from the bombing site by their relatives.

Additionally, there are three unidentified bodies that have been charred beyond recognition, hospital sources said adding that the bodies were given temporary burial at a local graveyard.
