Mobile phone services suspended in these Pakistani cities on 9, 10 of Muharram

Interior ministry issues guidelines to PTA

Mobile services will remain suspended in different cities on Muharram 9 and 10 as the interior ministry has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to comply with orders taken in view of the security situation.

Mobile phone services will partially be shut down in the federal capital, Islamabad.

The district administration of Islamabad has issued a schedule to keep the mobile service off at different times during Muharram.

In Sector G Six and Seven of Islamabad, mobile service will be closed on 9 of Muharram from 1am to 10pm while in Sector I-10 and adjacent areas, mobile service will be closed on 9 of Muharram from 6pm to 6am.

In the rural areas of Islamabad, Shahullah Dutta and surrounding areas, the service will be closed on 11 of Muharram from 2pm to 5pm while in the area of Bari Imam Noorpur Shah, mobile service will be closed on 11 of Muharram from 12pm to 7pm.

The interior ministry has issued a notification to shut down mobile phone services.

Mobile phone and internet services have been suspended in Quetta for three days.

Mobile phone service has been suspended in some areas of Karachi for several days, which will remain closed until 10 Muharram. During Muharram processions in the city, mobile phone service will be closed in certain areas on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

Mobile service will be closed in 14 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

These districts include Peshawar, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohat Shahr, Hangu, Karam, Orakzai, Bannu Shahr, Lucky Marwat, DI Khan and Tank.

In Punjab, 13 districts have been declared sensitive and the mobile phone service here will remain closed on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

These cities include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Jhang, Bhakkar, Leh, Multan, Sahiwal, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

Meanwhile, interim Punjab chief minister Mohsin Naqvi has stopped the drone coverage of procession and Majlis on Muharram 8, 9, and 10.
