Several inmates escape in Shahdadkot prison break
At least 15 prisoners including murder suspects escaped after breaking the roof of district judicial sub jail in Qambar Shahdadkot in Sindh on Sunday.
Footage available with Aaj News shows the shattered roof of the jail from where the inmates escaped.
Sources said that the escaped prisoners included murder suspects, drug dealers and other suspected criminals in an apparent negligence by the jail authorities.
SSP Qambar Tauheed Rehman Memon and DSP Ejaz Memon arrived at scene for inspection.
SSP Tauheed claimed that the on-duty assistant sub inspector and seven policemen have been suspended and arrested over negligence.
He went on to add that a legal process has been initiated against the officials, while the police are carrying out raids to arrest the escaped prisoners.
The prison break raised questions over the security measures by the authorities as the inmates fled away in daytime.
