Pakistan A sets target of 353 for India A in Emerging Teams Asia Cup final
Pakistan A set a target of 353 in 50 overs for India A in the final of the Asian Cricket Council Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday.
Middle-order batter Tayyab Tahir scored a brilliant 108 runs off 71 deliveries powered by four maximums and 12 fours.
After being put to bat first in Columbo, Pakistan Shaheens were off to a strong start as the opening partnership piled up 121 runs. Opening batter Saim Ayub lost his wicket in the 18th over after scoring 59 on 51 balls.
The second loss came for the green team after Ayub’s opening partner Sahibzada Farhan was sent back to the pavilion in the 22nd over. He scored 65 of 62 balls.
However, it was Tayyab Tahir who went on the onslaught against the Indian bowlers as he freely scored all across the park.
He, along with Mubasir Khan amassed the second hundred partnership of Pakistan’s innings. Khan contributed with a score of 35 runs playing 47 balls.
Pakistan A scored 352 runs in 50 overs with the loss of eight wickets.
