Seema, a 27-year-old Pakistani mother of four, entered India illegally via Nepal after she befriended and fell in love with a Hindu man, Sachin Mena from Noida while playing PUBG.

She claims to have converted to Hinduism and says that if sent back to Pakistan she will be killed for apostasy.

But, Lalit Kumar, the said shopkeeper says that Seema never displayed any interest In Hinduism.

Hailing from Jacobabad, Seema had been living in Dhani Bakhsh Goth area of Gulistan-e-Joher in Karachi since 2014.

Seema Haider also bought a house in Dhani Bakhsh Goth for Rs1.5 million but sold it for Rs1.2 million to go to India. She, however, took only Rs1 million with her, leaving the remaining Rs0.2 million with the buyers, her neighbours say.

Seema had bought the house with the money sent by her husband Ghulam Haider, who lives in Saudi Arabia.

Even after buying the house, she stayed till the last moment in the same rented house.

Shopkeepers in Dhani Bakhsh Goth say that Seema always made regular cash payments and never left any due amount to be paid.

Arshad Soomro, another shopkeeper, who runs a mobile recharge shop, confided that Seema used to buy internet packages every three-to-four days. He said that Seema Haider was so fond of playing PUBG that she consumed the internet package of Rs420 after every four days though it was meant to last the entire week.

The shopkeeper also said that Seema had a female friend who used to accompany her to the mobile recharge shop. The woman always covered her face with a veil while coming to his shop, but Seema never took the hijab.

He also added that he never had the indication that Seema was planning to leave Pakistan and elope to India.

Seema, who spoke fluently in Hindi and English in India, used to speak in Sindhi to shopkeepers in Dhani Bakhsh Goth.

Locals in the area said that Seema’s family had a good reputation and they were unaware of her affair with the Indian guy.

Her husband used to provide the means of living, said the people of her acquaintance, adding that if Seema returns back and apologizes, her apology should be accepted.

Meanwhile, the residents of Dhani Bakhsh Goth refuted Indian propaganda that Seema was an agent or a spy, saying that she was a semi-literate person.
