Naila Kiani makes history by scaling all of Pakistan’s 8,000 metre peaks

Trailblazing mountain climber Naila Kiani scaled another mountain above 8,000 metres on Thursday, putting another unique record to her name.

By successfully scaling the Broad Peak, Naila became the first woman to scale all of Pakistan’s mountain peaks above 8,000 metres.

Broadpeak is the 12th highest mountain in the world, standing at 8,051 metres above sea level. The Karakoram Club posted a photo of her holding the Pakistani flag atop the mountain.

She had recently become the first Pakistani woman to scale the Nanga Parbat along with Samina Baig, another one of the 8,000 metre peaks.

The other mountains she has scaled include the Hidden Peak, the Gasherbrum II and the K2.

Other than that, she has also scaled the Mount Everest, the Lhotse and the Annapurna taking the totla number of mountains above 8,000 metres that she has climbed to eight.
