Asia Cup schedule announced: Pakistan to face India on September 2

Multan and Lahore will host the matches in Pakistan

The Asia Cup 2023 will start in Multan with Pakistan playing against Nepal on August 30.

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Jay Shah on Wednesday announced the schedule of the Asia Cup, according to which Multan and Lahore will host the games in Pakistan.

The first-round Pakistan versus India game will be played in Kandy, Sri Lanka on September 2. The final is scheduled in Colombo on September 17.

Announcing the schedule, Shah called Asia Cup a symbol of unity and togetherness, as both Pakistan and Sri Lanka will host the event.

Three matches of the group stage will be played in Pakistan, while Sri Lanka’s Kandy will host India’s group stage matches.

Colombo will host the Super Four matches, along with the final.

A total of 13 matches including the final will be played in the tournament.The tournament will be played in the 50-overs format this time.

Pakistan, India and Nepal are in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are grouped in Group B.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage with the top two teams in this phase advancing to the final.
