Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan apologised in an Islamabad court in the Judge Zeba Chaudhry case on Wednesday.

Imran had been accused of threatening the judge in a speech in Islamabad and himself came to the rostrum to voice the apology.

“I apologise if I crossed a line,” Imran said to judge Malik Aman on Wednesday. He added that he had alredy gone to Judge Zeba Chaudhry’s court himself to tender an apology.

Imran also said that he had made remarks against the female judge in the heat of the moment while making a political speech.

Imran’s lawyer Salman Safdar said that the case had been made on political grounds and now that an apology had been tendered, there was no need to proceed with the case.

Safdar even referred to the proceedings as ‘begani shadi mai Abdullah deewana’.

The judge then asked the prosecution if they would present arguments, to which they replied that proescutor Rizwan Abbasi was not present in court.

The court also asked why the inspector general of police and female judge had been nominated as affected parties in the case.

Judge Malik Aman then called for a break in the proceedings.
