Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party manifesto still not finalised
The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s manifesto has still not been finalised despite the party’s deadline having passed.
Party Chairman Jahangir Khan Tareen had formed a nine-member committee under Aamir Kayani on June 20 to finalise the manifesto. The committee was asked to sudmit its draft within 10 days.
However, despite two weeks having passed since the deadline’s expiry tha manifesto is nowhere near in sight. Reports said that the committee has managed to meet a mere three times in total.
With the manifesto and other matters still being straightened out, the party;s registration in the Election Commission of Pakistan is also facing a delay.
The formation of the party was announced in Lahore on June 8. The party is mostly made up of old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf faces, many of whom jumped ship after the May 9 protests and subsequent crackdown on the party.
