Islamabad police managed to end a hostage situation without any loss of life on Tuesday.

Unknown men barged into an apartment in sector E-11 on Tuesday and took the residents hostage.

However, word soon reached the police and a large contingent including the SSP operations arrived on the scene.

A statement from the police said that the use of ‘strategy’ led to all hostages being safely recovered.

Reports said that the burglars tried to flee the scene after an exchange of fire with the police. A passerby was also injured as a result.

The police then conducted a search operation in the area and arrested the cuplrits in an injured state.

A Tweet by the police said that the operation also earned praise from Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and IG Akbar Nasir Khan.
