Fact check: Is Emirates conducting recruitment drive in Pakistan?
Emirates, one of the two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates, is travelling around the world to have the best staff for their cabin crew team. And the airline is recruiting staff through the open day and invite only for this purpose.
But is it hiring staff from Pakistan? Many wondered that like Qatar Airways, which has openings in the same department in Karachi and Lahore, Emirates was hiring and looking for the best candidates here.
Aaj News upon checking the group careers site of Emirates found that there was no open day or invite only interviews scheduled for intending candidates in Pakistan in the month of July as claimed in some social media posts and a few websites.
However, the website has schedule interviews for August 30, 2023 in Islamabad.
In July, the airline is looking for staff in Kuala Lumpur, it was not coming to any other Asian country at least until this month.
The invite only interview, for which candidates were advised to apply online, was scheduled for July 7 at 9am in the Malaysian capital.
The official careers website does not mention hiring being conducted in June or May, as claimed by some of the websites. According to a Pakistani website, a major recruitment drive was conducted in Karachi and Islamabad in May.
Another website reported that invite only interviews were conducted last month in the above-mentioned two countries.
However, listings for the interviews scheduled for July 2023 contain no mention of Pakistan although it will interview candidates on August 30 in Islamabad.
