A modern twist on drug peddling came out into the open when a drone carrying illegal drugs crashed in Lahore.

Police said that the drone was carrying 6kg of heroin and crashed near Balloki Kahna in Rasoolpura.

The drone fell into agricultural land belonging to a man named Rozdar.

Police said that the drone was ‘larger than usual’ and the drug it was carrying was heroin. The value of the 6kg drugs is said to be in millions of rupees.

The police seized the drugs and drone and an investigation has begun into who was operating the drone and where it came from.

Footage available with Aaj News showed a hexacopter. Many of similar six-rotor drones can carry a 5kg payload.

The footage also showed yellow packets attached to the drone.
