Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has questioned the timing and motive of Pervez Khattak’s criticism of Imran Khan’s political strategy and said that the politician’s career is over after his departure from the party.

In a statement issued by the party spokesperson on Sunday, the party said that Khattak was accusing Imran Khan of being behind the events of May 9 which was completely false and baseless.

The statement also added that not only was Khattak part of the party’s major decision making but had also been in touch with the establishment.

Khattak should have separated himself form party membership and leadership positions earlier if he had an issue with the direction Chairman Imran Khan was taking.

“Why did he wait till May 9 before expressing his thoughts?” the statement said.

The statement also added that the nation had already rejected ‘turncoats’ using false statements would only damage the reputations of those who had left the party after May 9.

“Pervez Khattak knows fully well that his politics has ended after his departure from the party,” PTI said.

The statement also explained that PTI had issued a showcause notice to the former PTI KP president for allegedly inciting other party members to resign. It also added that Khattak might be making such statements to get a position in the new ‘king’s party’.

Khattak had recently told reporters that he had always told Imran Khan to keep a ‘positive’ approach in politics. He had also alleged that the events of May 9 were a well-planned conspiracy and Imran Khan had only taken a few people into confidence regarding them.
