Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has warned rivals of the political outcomes of their actions, saying that court decisions were still awaited.

“July is a significant month for the country,” he said in a video message on Twitter on Thursday. “Whatever was destined to happen with us, is unfolding. Next, it is your turn as court decisions are due.”

Fearing arrest, the AML chief has refrained from staying at his residence.

Rashid highlighted the economic challenges faced by various sectors – including industry, agriculture, textiles, and automobile, alleging that they had all defaulted.

Rahid, the former interior minister, claimed that his Twitter account was under strict pressure. But he hoped to continue using it till August 13 – probably the last working day of the ruling alliance – if he was not “killed”.

He accused the government of trying to kill him, a concern Rashid has shared with the CJP and army chief in a letter. “If I am not jailed and not killed, then hopefully until August 13, significant political changes would occur. Their turn will also come,” the AML chief and announced his decision to address his supporters on August 13 at 10pm outside Lal Haveli.

Rashid expressed his belief in the triumph of truth and the salvation of the people from the clutches of the mafia. He assured the public that the lives of the underprivileged would improve and urged them not to lose hope.

He regretted being unable to celebrate Eidul Azha at his long-standing political gathering place, Rawalpindi’s Lal Haveli.

“It is uncertain whether the affluent royal families in Dubai were aware of the long queues for flour back home,” he said in a video message on Twitter. Rashid was talking about the meetings of political bigwigs, Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, in Dubai more than a month before the completion of the incumbent government tenure.

The former minister’s decision to refrain from staying at Lal Haveli on Eid reflects the current political climate and his concerns regarding the potential arrest. His video message attracted significant attention, with many eager to see the unfolding of events as August approaches.
