After a string of press conferences announcing defections across the country, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has now lost a key member overseas.

Waseem Akhtar Ramay, who was PTI’s candidate for NA 124, announced on Monday that he was parting ways with the party over May 9.

Ramay said that Imran Khan’s ‘aggressive’ stance against the institutions of Pakistan led to the violent protests of May 9. He added that he was not in favour of such politics.

He said that he was distancing from the party over its ‘violent’ brand of politics. Ramay added that he was raised in a army household around chants of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.

Ramay was considered one of the financers of the party and also served as vice chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission.
