President appoints Qazi Faez Isa as chief justice of Pakistan
Isa will take over in September when CJP Bandial retires
President Arif Alvi has approved the appointment of Justice Qazi Faez Isa as the next chief justice of Pakistan.
Justice Isa will take over after sitting Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial reaches the age of superannuation on September 16.
Qazi Faez Isa will be sworn in as chief justice on September 17 by the president.
The appointment was made under Article 175(3) of the constitution.
