Twenty-five thousand rupees would be the minimum fare per passenger for a trip by air taxi, the operating company’s CEO said.

“The minimum fare will be around Rs25,000 per passenger for a trip, however, they may vary for different destinations,” Sky Wings CEO Captain Nawaz Asim told Aaj News.

In May, the private company announced its decision to introduce Pakistan’s first air taxi service after signing an agreement with a foreign investor. There were around 29 airstrips located throughout the country, with nearly eight of them fully operational.

“The air taxi will fly at an altitude of 10,000 feet. The service will be available at the smaller airports across the country such as Nawab Shah, Sukkur, Mohenjo Daro, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan,” he said, “businessmen, patients, and other individuals would be able to take benefit of the faster taxi service.”

The taxi service’s app for booking rides was in the developing stage, he said.

Asim went on to add that the taxi had the capacity to accommodate four to six passengers.

The company would be operating fewer aircraft in the initial stage, but the Sky Wings CEO said the company has plans to increase the fleet of aircraft to 14.

Last month, the CEO claimed that the Sky Wings Electric Air Vehicles (EAVs), included in the aviation fleet, are capable of flying at a speed of 300 kilometres per hour, and can fly at an altitude of 14,000 feet during the flight.
