Cloudflare error causes outage of websites in Pakistan, other countries
A routing error in the network of Cloudflare, one of the largest content delivery network services, caused a massive website outage in Pakistan and other countries in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
Aaj News websites aaj.tv and aajenglish.tv were also affected by the error, according to system administrators.
A few other news websites in Pakistan also encountered the problem which led to slower browsing experience for users.
Cloudlfare said it was ’’investigating issues with network performance in APAC region.“
“We are working to analyse and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly,” it said in an update released at around midday according to Pakistan time.
The company said that its network was experiencing ’‘degraded performance“’ and several of its sites and services had been re-routed as it tried to cope with the problem.
These included services in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
The outage started early Wednesday morning and latest reports suggest that it later spread to the South American countries and the United States.
