With cancellation looms on the Asia Cup, Pakistan are ready to play a bilateral Test series against India on a neutral venue.

This statement from PCB management committee chairman Najam Sethi comes at a time when Pakistan is about to lose its hosting right due to India.

The fate of the tournament will be decided during an Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting which is scheduled to take place in a couple of days in Dubai.

As far as the bilateral series is concerned, Sethi made these comments while speaking to foreign media.

He said that they plan in Australia, England, and South Africa and the first option for this will be England and the second option will be Australia.

“If we can have a house full in Australia, well, that will be great, but Dubai will be cheaper for us for the Test series with India,” he said as quoted by Jang.

The PCB chairman said that they have also kept Australia on the radar as a neutral venue. “We have given a hybrid model to India for Asia Cup, ICC has to come forward to save the World Cup and Champions Trophy.”

Pakistan and India haven’t played a bilateral series since 2012 when the Misbah ul Haq XI toured India for a three-match ODI and two-match T20I series. The visitors emerged victorious in the ODI series 2-1 while the T20I series ended in a 1-1 draw.

The two sides, however, last met in a Test series in 2007-08 in India, with the home team winning the series 1-0.

Both teams only play each other at the ICC or ACC events.
