“Only one person was responsible for all the incidents and that was […],” PTI chief Imran Khan has been quoted as saying by BBC Urdu.

“He feared that I will de-notify him when I will come to power,” Khan told reporters in an informal conversation after he was walked into court surrounded by lawyers and security forces. “I didn’t want to de-notify anyone.”

He appeared in the Islamabad High Court for a hearing of his bail petitions in a land allotment corruption case (Al-Qadir Trust), the same place where he was arrested three days ago.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz of the IHC heard the bail applications.

Khan was whisked away by paramilitary forces on May 9 when he appeared in the IHC, prompting a strong reaction from his supporters. Protests were held in the country and state buildings were damaged.

Khan fears re-arrest

PTI chief Imran Khan feared being re-arrested on Friday.

“The Punjab Police is present outside the court to arrest me,” Khan told reporters in an informal conversation when he walked into court surrounded by lawyers and security forces. “I am warning you about the whole situation. If you arrest [me] again, then the same old response will come.”

His apprehension came as the Punjab police headed to Islamabad to arrest Khan in different cases. The team headed by the DIG for investigation left for Islamabad with the warrant, Aaj News reported.

The joint investigation team has also informed the court about the need for the arrest of Khan.

When reporters pressed the former prime minister on talks with the establishment, the PTI chief smiled and indicated the reporter to remain silent. He added that he phoned his wife Bushra Bibi through NAB’s official phone line, but could not talk to her.

The PTI chief said he spoke to Musarrat Cheema.

The former prime minister reiterated that an attempt was made to kill him at the judicial complex in Islamabad when he appeared in court. He demanded the authorities to show a warrant if there was any.

He accused the national graft buster of not treating him well in custody.

In a video shared on social media by Independent Urdu on Twitter, Khan said: “I was sitting in the high court. They had no reason to arrest me. I was abducted. And there they showed me the warrant for the first time when they took me to jail. This happens in the law of the jungle and the army abducts. Where did the police go? Where did the law go?”

He said: “The law of the jungle has been instated in the country. It seems as if martial law has been declared. When I reached the court yesterday, I found out for the first time that 40 helpless people have lost their lives in this. I did not even know about this,” he added.
