Fazal rejects SC verdict, calls PDM meeting
Maulana Fazal ur Rehman announced that a meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s senior leaders would take place on Friday and rejected the Supreme Court verdict.
“This verdict cannot be considered a Supreme Court verdict,” Fazal said, referring to the SC order declaring Imran’s arrest illegal.
He said that that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s ‘goons’ had attacked GHQ and Corp Commander’s residence, monuments of martyrs had been attacked and even a mosque had not been spared but the chief justice had told Imran that he was ‘happy’ to see him.
Fazal said that the court had ‘abetted’ Imran Khan despite knowing about all his crimes. He added that the judge’s code of conduct forbade them from even smiling.
He also said that the protests and vandalism that had occurred Imran’s arrest were akin to ‘treason’ and the court should have actually started treson proceedings against the PTI.
“Who will be responsible if these goons hit the road again?” he asked.
“The court came to their aid within two days,” Fazal said. He also referred to Thursday’s audio leaks and asked how Khawaja Tariq knew the SC verdict in advance. He added that court verdicts seemed to be prepared in advance.
The PDM meeting has been scheduled for 3pm on Friday. Fazal said that the alliance will decide its plan of action regarding the verdict in the meeting.
