Golf ball-sized hailstones wreak havoc in Balochistan
A massive hailstorm hit Balochistan’s Duki district on Thursday causing damage to houses, crops, and vehicles.
Hailstones as big as a golf ball poked holes in solar panels installed on the rooftops of the houses. They also broke the windscreens of the cars. Photos of damaged solar panels and cars are now making rounds on social media.
Some of the hailstones were so big that they would fit your palm. Silazai area of was hit the hardest. Luni also suffered damages. Wheat crops in the district have been completely or partially destroyed.
Duki is located in northeast Balochistan. The hilly terrain was covered with white ice balls.
The neighbouring district of Loralai also experienced heavy rain and hailstorm.
The low-lying areas in both Duki and Loralai were flooded following the rain.
