Karachi rain: CAA issues alert for Jinnah International airport
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued an alert to all airlines and aviation companies at the Jinnah International Airport amid the possible rains in Karachi.
In the alert, officials directed the companies to tie the small aircraft to heavy weights and parked in a safe place. They also asked to store goods in proper storage at airports to avoid any accidents.
Moreover, the officials said that the concerned department of CAA has been directed to be prepared and spray on the runway to avoid insects during rains.
Additional bird dispersal teams should be deployed to prevent the increase in bird activities while rescue and fire fighting services have also been instructed to remain alert, the CAA officials added.
The Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast scattered rainfall in Karachi from April 28 to May 1.
“There will be scattered rainfall in Karachi and heavy rains are expected in parts of southern Balochistan,” Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz told Aaj News. But there is no such possibility of urban flooding in Karachi.
