AI also becomes a pseudo psychiatrist to treat your depression
Since the introduction of ChatGPT, people have started using the Artificial-Intelligence in their own unique ways. Experts too want to make a difference in the health industry using AI.
With the advancement in technology, the increase in mental health-related issues is also alarming to the world. However, experts want to utilize the technology to their advantage. They have already managed to achieve a major step in that direction.
HMNC Brain Health — a Munich, Germany-based health tech company — is one of those which is attempting to make a difference in the health sector using AI.
They have successfully developed a “precision psychiatry” diagnostic tool, which uses AI to predict, diagnose and even treat depression.
It is still in the very early stages; however, HMNC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hans Eriksson believes that it could pave the way to treat other mental health issues.
“We expect to be probably the first to bring a functioning companion diagnostic together with a new treatment for depression,” he told Fox.
The HMNC started the project by attempting to find a link between stress and depression.
HMNC is attempting to bring the “precision medicine angle to psychiatry” through novel medicines and AI-powered tools, said Eriksson adding that depression diagnoses are “subjective.”
The new technology can identify niche subsets that may lead to depression, such as stress, he said.
