Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vowed not to compromise on the supremacy of the parliament, Aaj News reported on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister made the statement while chairing a high-level meeting of collation parties ahead of the Supreme Courts deadline on the election matter expiring on April 27.

It was decided in the meeting that the supremacy of parliament will be kept first and all the coalition parties are standing with the parliament.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, former President Asif Ali Zardari, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Khalid Magsi, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Agha Hassan Baloch, Salik Chaudhry, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Communications Maulana Asad Mahmood, other coalition leaders, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Attorney General of Pakistan attended the meeting.

The meeting held a detailed discussion over the consultations with the PTI on the current political situation in the country.

Sources said that the legal team also briefed the participants on judicial decisions and legislation. They were also briefed about the conduction of elections and also discussed the dialogue process with political forces.

All allies vowed to support the government on every matter.

After the meeting, PDM chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman left the Prime Minister’s House.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will also host an Eid Milan dinner in honor of the members of all the coalition parties at 7 pm today (Wednesday).
