Eid congregations held across the country

Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious fervor across the country.

In cities and towns of the country including Karachi, spirited Eid prayer gatherings were held, and special prayers were offered for peace, security and prosperity in the country.

Eid-ul-Fitr gatherings were held at more than 4,000 places in Karachi, while strict arrangements have been made for the security of the gatherings.

In Karachi, the first Eid prayer was offered at the Gurmandar’s Sabel Wali Masjid.

President Arif Alvi offered Eid prayers at Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif offered Eid prayers in Lahore. His both sons Sulaiman Shahbaz and Hamza Shahbaz were also present.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani offered Eid prayers in Quetta.

PTI Chief Imran Khan and PTI workers offered Eid prayer at the Zaman Park residence of Khan.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari offered Eid prayers in Garhi Khuda Bux Larkaana where he was joined by Sind Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Former president Asif Ali Zardari offered Eid prayers in Nawabshah.

JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was in Dera Ismail Khan.

In Peshawar, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali and Caretaker Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan offered Eid prayers at the Governor’s House. Caretaker Cabinet members and government officials also participated in the gathering.

Several Eid gatherings were held in Peshawar, but the main Eid prayer gathering was held at Eidgah Charsadda Road, attended by a large number of worshippers.

Peshawar Police has made strict security arrangements on Eid. According to the security plan, 3,500 police officers and officials are performing duty in the entire district.

Former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani offered Eid prayers in Multan, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haque offered Eid prayers in Mansoora Lahore. Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed offered Eid prayers at Liaquat Bagh.

The Sindh governor and Karachi administrator offered Eid prayers at Polo Ground (Bagh Jinnah) in Karachi. A large number of citizens including political and social personalities participated in the Eid prayers.

President Alvi calls for forgiveness

President Arif Alvi said in the Eid message that forgiveness is needed to get out of the current situation facing the country. “Today Pakistan needs mercy and forgiveness, today we are not ready to forgive people. I appeal to the nation not to let sectarian, religious and political differences become a source of hatred,” the president said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the coalition government has been continuously trying to reduce the burden of economic problems for the people, “Allah Almighty will give us relief from these trials.”

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff and Army Chief have also congratulated the nation on Eid.

The military leadership said that this festival in a peaceful environment is owed to all our martyrs and ghazis. May Allah continue to shower his blessings on Pakistan, they added.
