Nine Pakistanis killed in car crash in Saudi Arabia
At least nine Pakistanis have been killed and five others injured in a car crash in Saudi Arabia. The dead include women and children.
The Pakistani nationals were returning to the Saudi capital city of Riyadh after performing Umrah.
The victims are said to be the residents of Islamnagar and Chak 18, neighboring villages in the Nankana Sahib district of Pakistan. They were living in Saudi Arabia on visit visas.
The dead have been identified as Zulfikar Ali, Shahbaz Ali son of Muhammad Yunus, Umm Amara wife of Shahbaz Ali, Amaria Bibi wife of Muhammad Tayyab Goraya, Haram Fatima daughter of Muhammad Tayyab, Muhammad Dawood son of Tayyab, Abuzar son of Tayyab, Tahrim Fatima daughter of Muhammad Shahbaz, and Harim Fatima daughter of Muhammad Shahbaz.
Muhammad Tayyab, Abdul Hadi, Muhammad Shahbaz, and Abdul Wahab son of Muhammad Shahbaz are among the wounded.
Photos available with Aaj News suggest the SUV they were traveling in veered off the road and fell into a ravine. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the crash.
It was not clearly immediately what caused the vehicle to veer off the road.
