Pakistani celebrities raise voice in Noor Jehan’s support
Pakistani celebrities have raised their voices in support of Ailing elephant Noor Jehan, whose condition deteriorated on Thursday as she fell into a concrete pool.
The 17-year-old elephant could be seen in a bad state lying lifeless in a video shared by JFK Animal and Rescue Shelter.
Following the videos, many people and celebrities expressed their heartache at seeing the animal’s plight.
Singer Natasha Baig in her Instagram Story wrote that Noor Jehan can only find peace when she dies. “Pakistan is truly incapable of showing mercy to animals.”
Actor Ayesha Omar wrote: “This is heartbreaking. Is there any way we can help?”
“I wonder how this girl is really doing. I’m pray for her health and recovery,” Actor Simi Rahael wrote in her story. She also voiced concern against the “neglect” and “cruelty” by the zoo authorities.
Moreover, Yashma Gill called for a boycott of the “zoo culture”. “Please for the sake of this holy month, join hands in this cause and help in boycotting this zoo culture.”
