Three robbers killed in Karachi as other street criminals target restaurant
Three dacoits were killed and three others were arrested in multiple police encounters in Karachi late last night.
However, street criminals were still on a rampage in the city and they robbed a restaurant in the downtown area.
Three robbers killed
Three robbers were killed during a police encounter in North Karachi on Friday night.
Police said that three men were fleeing after looting people near Baba Mor when the police arrived on the scene.
The robbers started shooting on seeing the police and were killed in an exchange of fire with the police.
The criminals have been identified as Owais, Rashid, and Zeeshan. Police are checking their previous criminal records.
The bodies have been shifted to a hospital for further processing.
SSP Central Maroof Usman said that the police recovered weapons, stolen goods, and motorcycles from the possession of the robbers.
Robbers arrested after police encounter
A suspect named Dadullah Afghani was caught after getting injured in a police encounter near Jamali Bridge in the Sachal area.
A suspect named Ashfaq Lashari was arrested after getting injured in a police encounter in Shah Faisal Colony.
Police recovered weapons, mobile phones, and other items from the suspect’s possession.
Tipu Sultan police arrested a robber named Alex after he was injured in a police encounter.
Police recovered weapons, stolen mobile phones, purses, and motorcycles from the robber’s possession.
On the other hand, a man named Kamran was severly injured when robbers opened fire on him for resisting robbery near Liaquatabad Bird Market.
Restaurant customers looted
A major robbery took place at a restaurant on Abdullah Haroon Road, a short distance from the Governor’s House.
Four armed men rode in on motorcycles and robbed dozens of customers sitting and eating at the restaurant.
CCTV footage of the robbery shows armed robbers harassing civilians during the robbery. The robbers fled right after.
