Former captain Rashid Latif has raised serious concerns over Pakistan’s recent series defeat against Afghanistan questioning the team selection.

The Shadab Khan XI is now on the brink of a 3-0 white-wash against the hosts with the third T20I set to be played on March 27 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

“Did we go for the defeat?” Rashid asked during the post-match show. “It is in the ICC’s anti-corruption code that you cannot play a team, who you are sure that they cannot win. This is clearly written in clause”

The – the youth and/or lack of experience of the Participant – falls under the Article 6 section of the anti-corruption code.

He went on to ask that why the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent such a team. “Some people had already predicted a 3-0 victory for Afghanistan. I don’t know what was the reason behind that, still wondering, why our board rested the top-ranked players?”
