What really happened at Angeethi resturant in Karachi?
KARACHI: A group of around 20 men smash a chair through the display window of Angeethi restaurant on Tipu Sultan road in a video circulating on social media on Friday night.
According to police, the dispute started when restaurant staff were playing cricket on Tipu Sultan road after sehri on Friday. They got into a tiff with a passerby when their cricket ball hit him. The staff beat the passerby with a cricket bat.
The next day, the man came back to the restaurant with a group of 20 to 25 men. They beat up the employees with sticks, broke the windows, and damaged restaurant property, SHO Firozabad Inam Junejo said.
The group took off on motorcycles when the police reached.
Police said that the restaurant employees and the passerby have reconciled and did not wish to press charges. The property damage will cost the restaurant millions of rupees, police said.
The police filed a case against the attackers under sections for vandalism, dispute, and damage to property.
