The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued weather and crescent moon sighting updates for Ramadan as Muslims across the globe are set to welcome the holy month.

Pakistan is likely to observe the first day of Ramadan on March 23 as the crescent moon is expected to be sighted on March 22 (Wednesday).

The Met Office said that the birth of the moon is expected at 10:23 pm on March 21 and by the time of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s meeting on March 22, it will be about 20 hours old.

It said that it could be sighted between 6:41 pm to 7:32 pm on Wednesday as the sky would remain clear. The chances of a moon sighting are high.

Moreover, PMD forecasted that the intensity of heat is expected to reduce during the first 10 days of the holy month in Karachi.
