Zahir Shah given charge of NAB until chairman appointment
Zahir Shah has been notified as the new chairman of the National Accountability Bureau until a new chairman is appointed.
The appointment was made on February 24 under section 6 of the National Accountability Ordinance 1999.
Zahir Shah has been working for NAB since 2002 and was serving as the bureau’s deputy chairman prior to his latest appointment.
He has also served as an additional director, DG Operations and DG Rawalpindi as well.
NAB Chairman Aftab Sultan resigned on Tuesday after seven months in office citing personal reasons.
He was reportedly angry about NAB’s powers being clipped as well.
Amendments to the NAB law are also the subject of petition in the Supreme Court filed by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
