The PML-N has said in recent days that two top court judges, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan and Justice Mazahar Naqvi, are prejudiced towards the PML-N. Saying that it does not expect justice from these judges, the party has asked the judges to recuse themselves from cases in which PML-N is a party. Both judges are part of the larger bench which will take up the suo motu notice today.
The assemblies in Punjab and KP were dissolved by the PTI in January. However, election schedules have still not been issued despite the constitution clarifying that this must be done within 90 days.
