An operation by the security forces in Spinkai, South Waziristan killed a suicide bomber while no military casualties were reported.

Forces surrounded a compound in Spinkai after receiving reports that suicide bomber Naik Rehman Mehsud was in the area. After an exchange of gunfire, Mehsud was killed after he detonated his suicide vest.

The bomber had come to Waziristan from the Logar province of Afghanistan and was reportedly an aide of Tehreek-e-Taliban commander Azmatullah aka Lala and Khairban aka Khairu.

Mehsud was reportedly involved in multiple attacks on security forces in the past.

Operations against militants have sped up after the recent series of terror attacks in Pakistan which have particularly targeted KP and Balochistan.
