Singer Sajjad Ali has categorically rebuffed reports pertaining to a woman, who is claiming to be his sister. He spoke about it in a series of videos titled ‘fake news about fake sister’ on Twitter.

“Neither is she my sister, cousin, not even a distant cousin nor she is related to me,” he said in more than four-minute videos. The singer was sitting on a brown couch and holding a cup while speaking.

The clarification came after a media outlet reported that Ali had a sister, who was living in poverty. She introduced herself as Bushra Akhtar and Ghulam Ali was one of her grandfathers. The online media section interviewed her and showed the house in which she was living.

He refrained from taking any legal action against the people and lamented the woman was tricked into saying such things about him. “It would have been better if she would have directly approached for any help as there was not any need for such a drama,” he said and reiterated that some people were enticing the woman to utter such things.

Ali was of the view that such videos were made for clickbait, to earn money, or to have fame or damage somebody’s reputation.

He described the video and the story as “fake”, adding that it was not the first time as in the past bogus news was spread about his marriage and house in Lahore.

The singer was shocked to see internet users sharing and commenting on such news without verifying it.

“My reputation does not hurt because of this fake news. I am working for my loyal fans and advised the people to follow good things,” he added.
