Australia great Michael Clarke slapped by girlfriend
Australia’s World Cup winning captain Michael Clarke was slapped by his girlfriend, a shocking video revealed Friday.
The video, which is obtained by Daily Telegraph, is making rounds on social media showing the pair was filmed in a heated confrontation in Noosa.
The footage showed Yarbrough screaming at the former cricketer, accusing him of “sleeping” with his ex-girlfriend Pip Edwards and slapping him in the face.
Clarke’s close friend Karl Stefanovic and others were forced to intervene after the quarrel.
Renowned entertainment reporter Peter Ford said that he was stunned looking that a huge number of people called it an act of physical violence.
“Now, it’s got to work both ways, and the issue of domestic violence is a very hot-topic issue at the moment in Queensland,” he said. “He [Clarke] is a victim of domestic violence as it appears on camera. So you know, it’s very blurred lines with all this, there’s nothing about it that is crystal clear.”
Moreover, the Queensland Police have also launched an investigation into the issue.
“Queensland Police are investigating an incident between a 30-year-old woman and 41-year-old man depicted in the footage at Lions Park on Gympie Terrace in Noosaville earlier this month,” a police spokesperson said. “As this matter on January 10, 2023, is under investigation the Queensland Police Service is unable to provide any further comment.”
