The Son of renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil has denied the reports claiming that his father’s bank accounts have been frozen.

“Since yesterday, the reports of Maulana Tariq Jamil’s accounts being sealed are making rounds on social media. It is said that there are billions of rupees in these accounts. There is no truth in these reports. Spreading fake news about someone is a bad act,” Tariq Jamil’s son Yousaf Jamil said in a tweet.

Yousaf’s denial came after various social media accounts claimed that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had reportedly seized three bank accounts of Maulana Tariq Jamil, who has a massive following in Pakistan and across the world, for allegedly hiding billions of rupees.

As far as the reports and claims regarding the freezing of Tariq Jamil’s bank accounts are concerned, no official statement has been issued by any government agency so far and the reports are not more than rumours.
