Beat the cold at Karachi Eat Festival
The two-day Karachi Eat Festival has started — so a shout-out to all food lovers and those looking for family outings. The tenth edition of the mega event is being held at the Beach Sea View Park, in Clifton with as many as 150 food stalls to lure the taste buds of visitors.
A large number of people had gathered for the meet-and-eat event, with many complaining about the traffic congestion. The event is famous for its wide food menu that includes local cuisines and fast food. People can attend the Karachi Eat from 12pm to 11pm.
Actor Saleem Mairaj described the festival as a “good activity” that enables people from all over the city to enjoy the food.
Some of the visitors we approached said they liked the waffles the most while others simply responded by saying that the event was a “good initiative”. However, a senior citizen lamented about the open manholes near the park, highlighting that such a sight was spoiling the beauty of the event.
What you will get at the event?
Apart from Karachi, restaurants from Lahore and Islamabad have also set up their stalls at the event.
Philly Cheese Steak
Burridos is in with its Philly cheese steak, the popular regional fast food of the US.
Peri bites
Amreen’s Kitchen has its crunchy Peri bites that many would crave while having tea in the evening long after the festival is over.
Fresh juices
We know that it is cold but keeping hydrated yourself after having a spicy meal is a must. At Karachi Eat you may enjoy a host of fresh juice varieties.
Mantu
We would not get into the details of the origins of the Mantu but allow you to taste the tender dish. Mantu, commonly known as dumplings, is boiled or steamed after being wrapped in a thin dough sheet.
Corn dogs
Though the name and shape of the dish reminded us of the bootta it is not that. The crunchy dish is a lot different.
Biryani
Tikyanii will be sharing its recipe for biryani. The most common food in events never ceases to become less popular even at a time when biryani is part of menus at weddings in this season.
Chaat and Golgappay
How can we forget the chaat and golgappay?
Dessert
Don’t forget to have dessert to complete your dine-out meal.
