Zardari calls on Shujaat to discuss no-confidence motion against Punjab chief minister
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari called on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain at his residence in Lahore on Tuesday.
Both the leaders discussed the no-confidence motion and vote of confidence in the Punjab Assembly.
The meeting comes after the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in the Assembly Secretariat.
During today’s meeting, PPP co-chairman and PML-Q president agreed that Punjab would witness a new CM of their choice. They also spoke to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif over telephone during the meeting.
PPP leader Nasir Hussain Shah and PML-N’s Malik Ahmed Khan briefed the meeting on important issues.
Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Tariq Bashir Cheema were also present at the meeting.
