ISLAMABAD: The prices of per tola gold reached another record high increasing by Rs2,200 to Rs 174,900 on Monday amid economic woes.

According to All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of 10-gram gold also increased by Rs1,886 to Rs149,948 from Rs148,062.

Analysts say that the prices of gold increased after investors shifted their focus towards safe-haven assets due to the unavailability of the US dollar and speculation regarding the rupee-dollar parity.

The price of gold in the international market increased by $3 to $1,796 compared to its sale at $1,793.

Meanwhile, the price of per tola silver increased by Rs40 to Rs2,020 whereas that of 10-gram silver went up by Rs34.29 to Rs1,731.82.
