PAK v ENG: Who will replace Haris Rauf in Multan Test?
Pakistan and England are set to lock horns at the historic Multan Cricket Stadium in the Second Test starting on Friday.
The Men in Green, who suffered a 74-run defeat in Rawalpindi Test, are forced to make a change in their playing XI. That is due to pacer Haris Rauf’s injury.
The speedster, who made his debut in the first Test, was ruled out of the rest of the series with a thigh injury.
No player was added in the squad as his replacement since Pakistan have all-rounder Faheen Ashraf and uncapped Mohammad Wasim Jr available on the bench.
When asked about Haris’ replacement, captain Babar Azam said that they are yet to decide. “We are yet to decide whether Mohammad Wasim Jr or Faheem Ashraf will play the Multan Test,” he said during a press conference.
“The pitch of the Multan Test is dry and looks friendlier towards spinners. The old ball will help reverse swing,” he added.
Rauf bowled 13 overs taking 1-78 in England’s first innings, but was unable to bowl in the second. He batted with discomfort in both innings.
Possible Pakistan XI:
Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Imam-ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Azhar Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr/Faheem Ashraf, Saud Shakeel, Zahid Mahmood and Naseem Shah.
