‘After retirement of Gen Bajwa PTI’s ‘hypocrisy’ has gone beyond limits’
LAHORE: Special Adviser to Prime Minister and PML-N leader Atauallah Tarar has said that ‘hypocrisy’ of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the retirement of former Army Chief Gen (rtd) Qamar Javed Bajwa was condemnable.
“Soon after the retirement of General Bajwa, the lies and hypocrisy of PTI leadership have gone beyond limits,” the PML-N leader said in a tweet claming that the PTI chief kept asking the former army chief to stop the no-confidence motion unconstitutionally, and leveled false allegations when he [General Bajwa] refused.
“An attractive offer was made in lieu of the unconstitutional demand,” he alleged.
It is worth mentioning here that PTI Chief Imran Khan said a day earlier that his government’s decision to give extension to former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa was ‘a mistake’.
Terming the decision a mistake, he said that no one should ever get an extension in the army. “When we came into power, our government was facing several problems,” he said, adding that extension to former COAS Bajwa was inevitable.
