Accused who raped teenage girl in front of her father arrested
Police arrested on Tuesday prime accused Shan alias Shani, who raped 14-year-old girl in front of her father during a robbery in Patoki, after five months of the incident.
According to the details the police, in connection with the incident, had detained 600 suspects and interrogated them. Among those detained 214 people were tested for DNA.
Earlier in May this year, a teenage girl was allegedly raped by robbers in the limits of Pattoki Police Station. Police said that a man along with his 14-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son was on his way to village after attending a marriage ceremony when some robbers intercepted them near Pattoki-Chunian bypass.
The outlaws took the man to nearby fields and tied him with rope. Later, the outlaws raped his daughter and managed to escape when some passersby came to rescue her after hue and cry.
The police formed five teams to arrest the accused after the then chief minister Punjab Hamza Shehbaz took notice of the incident and directed immediate arrest of the accused.
Special police teams also worked on geo-fencing, CDR, PFC and fingerprints, after which the police were able to track down the main accused.
The accused Shan alias Shani was employed at a brick kiln and was involved in several cases of robberies along with his accomplice at night.
Accused Shani eloped with the sister of his fellow dacoit and took him to Lodhran, the accused was arrested in another case and after his DNA was obtained, it matched with Patoki’s girl rape case.
The accused was sent on remanded from Lodhran Jail to Patoki, and during the interrogation, the accused admitted the crime.
Police constituted a special team to arrest another accused, Afaq, involved in the robbery and rape.
