Khawaja Asif blames PTI for MBS visit postpnement
PMLN Leader Khawaja Asif blamed PTI’s long march for the postponement of the Saudi crown prince’s visit on Sunday. He made a comparison to the postponement of the Chinese President’s visit in 2014 due to PTI’s sit-in in a Tweet.
“Imran Khan has no thought except his own interests,” Khwaja wrote. “This man is working on an agenda against the country.”
Aaj’s Naveed Akbar and Zakaullah Mohsin reported on Saturday that the Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Pakistan had been postponed after a change of plan in his Asia Tour. MBS’ visit to India has also been postponed.
PTI’s Shahbaz Gill used the India argument to hit back at Asif saying that the visit had never been confirmed in the first place.
“Did Imran Khan cancel his (MBS) visit to India too?” GIll wrote on Twitter.
President Alvi admits he is ‘brokering talks’
Speaking to the press in Lahore, President Arif Alvi said he is trying to bring all political stakeholders to a workable solution. However he added that he was playing this role as the ’supreme commander.
He also said that consultations, such as the one taking place between the Sharif family in London, are not strictly constitutional.
PTI’s long march continues
The part of PTI’s long march being led by Asad Umar will continue on from Faisalabad today, Imran Khan will address the march at Ghanta Ghar Chowk via video link.
After the address the the march will head on to Chiniot and Sargodha.
Meanwhile the segment being led by Shah Mahmood Qureshi will set of from Lalamusa, and will listen to the PTI chief’s speech in DInga.
