Woman flees after leaving body of teen ‘domestic help’ at hospital

Torture marks visible, suggestion of rape, says police surgeon

The teenage boy whose lifeless body was brought to a private hospital in Karachi was tortured, with the police surgeon saying that there was evidence of rape.

“An unidentified minor, aged about 12-14 years, was dead on arrival at JPMC,” Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed told Aaj Digital. The body was brought from the jurisdiction of the Bahadurabad police station.

“His body showed marks of severe torture and autopsy findings are highly suggestive of anal rape. Initial findings suggest asphyxial death,” Dr Syed said while adding that a full determination of cause of death would be made after reports from toxicology report.

The teenager was initially taken to a private hospital in Bahadurabad.

The CCTV footage seen by Aaj News shows a woman driving a hatchback car to the hospital, with the boy lying in the back seat.

With the help of hospital staff, the boy is moved to a stretcher and taken for treatment with the woman overseeing it all. She accompanies the hospital staff inside while her hatchback vehicle remained parked at the entrance, with the driver seat door ajar.

The police said that the woman found an opportune time to abandon the body and fled in her vehicle.

While the police is yet to determine the identity of the minor, they believe he worked as domestic help at the woman’s residence.

They said that the body had torture marks, which was later validated by the police surgeon’s report.

Using the CCTV footage, police has been able to identify the owner of the vehicle that was used to transport the body.

Further investigation is underway with police waiting to find the heirs of the deceased to register a formal complaint.
