ECC approves import of wheat from Russia

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the import of 0.3 million metric tonnes of wheat from Russia.

The meeting presided over by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar decided that wheat would be procured from Russia at the rate of $372 per metric ton.

The participants of the meeting were informed that the wheat consignment will reach Pakistan from November 1 to January 15.

The ECC also approved the Energy Ministry’s summary of Rs 6 per liter margin on petroleum products for petroleum companies.

Apart from this, a summary of power purchase agreement amendments of the Ministry of Power has also been approved.

The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) presented another summary of Pakistan Energy Revolving Fund (PERF). The ECC after deliberation approved the summary while directing the Ministry of Energy not to have any influence on the electricity tariff.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Special Assistant Finance Tariq Bajwa, Tariq Pasha and government officials participated in the ECC meeting.
